It’s important for each and every one of us to look after ourselves in every area of our lives, especially our mental, emotional and physical well-being.

However, we can sometimes get carried away with striving to achieve more, or excellence, even perfection, and end up turning our whole life into a never ending list of to-dos, targets and goals not yet reached, at the expense of never really feeling much lasting peace, presence or fulfilment. Sometimes our minds are already charging ahead with the next thing that's not yet been accomplished, even while we're already working super hard to reach, or have just reached a major target. This can mean we don't get to properly enjoy the process of development and change, or unwind and recharge. Whilst of course it can be very useful to be driven - it gets a lot of things done - this can become imbalanced and leave us feeling drained, tired and stressed.

Quite often, this can then feed or lead into worse problems such as anxiety, depression and underlying self-esteem issues. Whilst you may opt for quick fix coping mechanisms and common escape routes to alleviate stress such as excessive eating, drinking, TV and time online, these can lead to you feeling more isolated and alone if they mean you're ignoring your deeper needs, like the needs to slow down, recharge, re-prioritise and reconnect with what brings you deeper nourishment.  If you’re tired of feeling tired and stressed, perhaps now is the time to take a different approach.

By working with Eleanor Bigden, she will be able to use her expertise and extensive knowledge of CBT, and other effective, evidence based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy and EMDR, to help you release old beliefs and tendencies that don't serve you so well.
