It’s important for each and every one of us to look after ourselves in every area of our lives, especially our mental, emotional and physical well-being.
However, we can sometimes get carried away with striving to achieve more, or excellence, even perfection, and end up turning our whole life into a never ending list of to-dos, targets and goals not yet reached, at the expense of never really feeling much lasting peace, presence or fulfilment. Whilst you may opt for quick fix coping mechanisms and common escape routes to alleviate stress such as excessive eating, drinking, TV and time online, these can lead to you feeling more isolated and alone if they mean you're ignoring your deeper needs, like the needs to slow down, recharge, re-prioritise and reconnect with what brings you deeper nourishment.
